Slashing Mechanism

Slashing is a penalty mechanism designed to ensure the reliability and security of the KIP Protocol Node Network. It deters malicious actions and node downtime.

Offline Slashing Penalty

KIP Protocol Node network collects "heartbeat" messages from Checker Nodes every minute. If a node fails to send these messages, it is considered offline.

If a checker node is offline during the whole 15-minutes epoch time, the node's reward during this period will be slashed.
