📊Monetisation and Usage
Checker Nodes
Checker Nodes are remunerated in several ways:
1. If they identify a provider not fulfilling his service commitments, they will receive a proportion of his stake once the report is confirmed.
2. Checker Node owners also receive compensation based on the total number of pings made. (Pings are allocated such that each node will make the same number within a set period.)
3. Checker Node owners will also have the right to rule on intellectual property disputes via a quadratic DAO voting mechanism.
In ordinary circumstances, running the hardware required for a Checker Node should cost under USD 10 per month.
WebSocket Proxy Nodes
Providers of WebSocket Proxy Nodes will be remunerated based on the amount of traffic they handle, with this being a function of the amount initially invested by the owner and the node's capacity/availability.
Indexer Nodes
The reward system for indexer nodes will be similar to that implemented by The Graph (you can learn more about this here). Indexers pay an initial fee and stake tokens in return to the right to receive a given number of indexing opportunities per 24-hour period. The staking process helps to ensure that prospective indexers have the capacity to provide the level of indexing to which they wish to commit. Indexers receive a corresponding reward once proof of indexing is provided.
Validator/RPC Nodes
In the longer run, our goal is to launch our own dedicated app chain for data storage and retrieval. This chain will provide opportunities for providers of validator and RPC node providers to be detailed in subsequent updates.
